CONSTRUCTION
SK have worked on a number of construction projects, from small scale housing projects to large scale mixed use developments. We offer advice and assistance from the early stages of design and planning to avoid or mitigate ecological impacts. We are experienced in ecology planning issues, Ecological Impact Assessments, protected species surveys and licence applications. We liaise on your behalf with the relevant regulatory bodies, e.g. Natural England, planning authorities and stakeholders to allow the planning process to run smoothly.
CASE STUDIES
SWANSEA UNIVERSITY BAY CAMPUS
Over recent years SK has formed a strong link with St Modwen Developments through a long standing relationship with Prosuv Consult. Most recently SK has worked on the development of a new campus for Swansea University on a 65 acre site. SK have provided reptile surveys, reptile translocations and are currently undertaking an on-going assessmet of wintering birds within the Swansea Bay tidal area.
MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT, SOUTH LAKELAND
SK have recently undertaken an ecological assessment of a site on the Cumbrian coast identified in the Local Plan for allocation as a mixed-use development. Through close liaison with the Local Planning Authority and the client we are aiming to fully assess all the potential ecological constraints on site in order that they may inform the site masterplan. This is a complex and interesting project, with a number of specialist habitat and species surveys to be undertaken.
