ECOLOGICAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT

An Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) is a process of identifying, quantifying and evaluating the potential effects of development on habitat, species and ecosystems.

An EcIA is formally required under Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations. Where an EIA is not required, it may still provide useful insight into any development project to identiy significant ecological impacts. This would demonstrate how a project accords with relevant planning policy and legislation.

SK ecologists have a strong knowledge and understanding of the EcIA guidelines set out by the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).  We can guide the client through this process ensuring all the relevant principals are met.
